Its necessary to get back on track. Four sessions of orientation program was conducted. Well began is half done. We got a clear idea about the next semester. Ms. Asha ma'am handled the first session which was interactive and thought provoking. It definitely made us come out of our cocoons. After a 15 min break, Dr Reghu sir initiated a valuable class on Time Management. We got an opportunity to listen to his timeless life stories. After this, we had a class by Dr Joju sir and Dr Bindu maam gave us a briefing on the upcoming semester.
The international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking is observed every year on June 26. Drug abuse is one of the major problems faced in the country. A survey conducted among those below the age of 21 suggested that 40% of the drug addicts were below 18 years. Responding to the calls of the Kerala CM for united efforts to create a drug free world, school students in the state actively contributed their part for the significance of the day. GGHSS, Cotton hill also became a part of this mass movement. it is very important to sensitize the youth on the subject of drug abuse. it is therefore, inevitable to raise awareness about the problems in drug use and suggest ways to prevent the people from succumbing to it. School-level programs should be initiated to find the root cause.
