The college reopened after the Christmas vacation and it was a pleasant morning as the students were zealous as ever with new hopes and resolutions. Meekha ma'am engaged the first hour and different works were assigned to us. The second hour was taken by Joju sir who commenced the class with a new year message. Later, he discussed about e-content. Maya ma'am gave an enlightening session on teacher competencies. Before leaving the college campus, we watered the plants in the vegetable garden. It's always a delight to watch the plants we planted grow.
The international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking is observed every year on June 26. Drug abuse is one of the major problems faced in the country. A survey conducted among those below the age of 21 suggested that 40% of the drug addicts were below 18 years. Responding to the calls of the Kerala CM for united efforts to create a drug free world, school students in the state actively contributed their part for the significance of the day. GGHSS, Cotton hill also became a part of this mass movement. it is very important to sensitize the youth on the subject of drug abuse. it is therefore, inevitable to raise awareness about the problems in drug use and suggest ways to prevent the people from succumbing to it. School-level programs should be initiated to find the root cause.
