My new journey at Mar Theophilus Training College commences. The novice B.Ed batch for the year 2021-23 was heartily welcomed by the MTTC family with a formal inauguration. Our principal, Dr Benedict Sir and Fr. Thomas Kayyalackal inaugurated the function. We also had the privilege to grab the beautiful and inspiring words from him. The formal function which began with a prayer to the almighty was accompanied by various cultural programmes initiated by our seniors. Later that day, we were introduced to our respective classes. And here we are, a step closer to our dream of being a teacher. The day ends with a promise that this institution could carve the best out of us as a teacher and as a human being.
The international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking is observed every year on June 26. Drug abuse is one of the major problems faced in the country. A survey conducted among those below the age of 21 suggested that 40% of the drug addicts were below 18 years. Responding to the calls of the Kerala CM for united efforts to create a drug free world, school students in the state actively contributed their part for the significance of the day. GGHSS, Cotton hill also became a part of this mass movement. it is very important to sensitize the youth on the subject of drug abuse. it is therefore, inevitable to raise awareness about the problems in drug use and suggest ways to prevent the people from succumbing to it. School-level programs should be initiated to find the root cause.
