That's the final day of the enthralling school induction. As usual, after signing our attendance we went for our assigned duties. We visited an exhibition organised by the Science and technology department Government of India. By around12.15, we reached the school ground for serving food as part of the mid day meal program. I got an opportunity to engage the 9th standard girls. I introduced a short story by RK Narayan named The Trio. The active participation from the students made the class more interesting. I consider this as an initial step to my career. I got a positive reply and feedback from the students as well as my assigned teacher, Mrs.Jussy ma'am. As it was a final day of our school induction program with took many photos with the principal and headmaster.
The international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking is observed every year on June 26. Drug abuse is one of the major problems faced in the country. A survey conducted among those below the age of 21 suggested that 40% of the drug addicts were below 18 years. Responding to the calls of the Kerala CM for united efforts to create a drug free world, school students in the state actively contributed their part for the significance of the day. GGHSS, Cotton hill also became a part of this mass movement. it is very important to sensitize the youth on the subject of drug abuse. it is therefore, inevitable to raise awareness about the problems in drug use and suggest ways to prevent the people from succumbing to it. School-level programs should be initiated to find the root cause.
